Description:
This print was published about one month before Hiroshige's death, depicting the first Fireworks Festival after the earthquake at Ryögoku. The festival was one of the most popular events amongst the people of Edo. Hiroshige may have been content to depict this scene as the last work in the series, as his home city of Edo had completely recovered from the devastating natural disaster.
