Description:
Wonderful illuminated oban size Japanese woodblock print by Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949.) Tea House, published by Doi Hangaten, signature and red seal of artist. Evening scene of a tea house with two geisha clad in their finest kimono. Strong colors and sharp printing. The composition is outstanding, note the silhouette of a geisha in the upper room. Very good condition. Toning to the paper, barely noticeable within the image. Unframed, full margins. 15 3/4 x 10 1/4 inches.
