Description:
Province of Dewa: distant view of Gatsusan (Mount Gatsu) from the Mogamigawa (Mogami River).--Gookin A view of the Mogami River crowded with boats. In the distance Gassan (Moon Mountain) a sanctuary of mountain-worshipping sects. In the titles of the print and the preceeding one, Mutsu, the artist acknowledges his debt to the gazeteers and their "bird's eye" overviews.--Swinton
