Description:
Print no. 50 of the series: "Famous Views of the Sixty-odd Provinces" The castle town of Iwakuni is located on the banks of the Nishiki River. Since it was built in 1673, the five-arched Kintai Bridge has been the town’s most distinguished landmark. Destroyed by a typhoon in 1950, the famous wooden bridge was so important to Iwakuni that it was meticulously reconstructed in 1953.
