Description:
I'm proud to offer this great block print by Koitsu Tsuchiya (1870-1949). Koitsu Tsuchiya became of pupil of Kiyochika Kobayashi in 1885 and from him learned the arts of the woodcut and lithography. Koitsu created slightly more than one hundred woodcuts, most of which are outstanding in their quality and craftsmanship. "Full Moon at Akashi Beach" image is of a pine tree branch reaching out on to the bay with sailboats and a full moon. Image area is 9.5" wide and 14.25" tall. Good condition with minor fade on front and discoloration on back of paper. Frame and glass recently removed. Signed Koitsu Tsuchiya with red artist’s seal. Publisher Watanabe seal 6mm
