Title Snow at a Shrine Entrance first & limited edition - provenance: Robert O. Muller estate Artist Hasui Kawase 1883-1957 Signature Hasui Seal sui Dated 1929 Publisher Sakai and Kawaguchi Medium/Technique Woodblock print Impression excellent - very good … lightly embossed, some of snow flakes were embossed and some were printed in different shades to show the depth. Edition Size 100 Numbered 44 / 100 Description "Shato no Yuki" Steadily falling snow at the entrance of Benten shrine and the pond in Inokashira, Tokyo. Hasui made only sixteen prints for the publisher Kawaguchi and Sakai. These handful works were considered among his finest work, especially the snow scenes. Note carver Maeda, printer Komatsu.
