Monday, 28 November 2005 This is a great opportunity to own a very early,original color woodblock print by Japanese Master,Kawase Hasui.This woodblock is titled: "Snow at Miyajima"(Yuki no Miyajima). It has the Kawaguchi & Sakai B-Seal which was used only between 1929-31. It also has the carver printer seal,Maeda/Komatsu. And also lower left corner is the K and S Seal E. This woodblock is in remarkable condition, it came to us in the original folder, it is tipped onto that folder with two spots of glue in the upper two corners. The sheet is very clean only a very slight warm tone of age to the sheet. One can see the woodgrain pattern in the inking. On the back of the print is good bleed through, a faint "Made in Japan" stamp,and some inscribed words and numbers. They read: "TK152/mox and LPOP"..The color on this print is quite rich and beautifully done.
