Description:
This is a genuine first state shin hanga Japanese woodblock print by Ishiwata Koitsu (Born 1897) titled "Twilight at Imamiya Street, Choshi", dated Showa 7 (1931). Theis print was published by Watanabe Shozaburo and bears the Watanabe "C" cartouche (1929-1942). The print is a shin hanga masterpiece, the photos do not do justice to the quiet peaceful feel of this print. The print is in fine condition. Excellent impression and registration, good color and excellent bleedthrough. No foxing, toning, folds or creases. The print is not trimmed or setdown. Print size is 10.25" x 15.25".
