Triptych: The Spinning Wheel Artist: Chikanobu Format: Oban triptych: each sheet: 14" x 9.25" Subject: A bijin at a spinning wheel pauses to coverse with a mother and son who are excited by the arrival of a young Heian Courtier. Publisher: Takekawa Unokichi Date: 1891 Condition: Fine colors. Very slightly trimmed. Some light offsetting of red pigment to left sheet. A waterstain under title cartouche in right sheet. Strips of thin Japanese album backing paper at edges. Minor marks and flaws. Generally very good state of preservati Impression: Fine impression with gauffrage and lacquer.
