Woodblock diptych print, oban tate-e. Scene from the kabuki play 'Natsu Matsuri'. The kabuki actor Nakamura Utaemon IV (left) as the half-naked and tattooed Danshichi Kurobei armed with a swrod, threatening Onoe Tamizo as Giheiji, who has fallen backwards into mud.
