Description:
Colour woodblock print, centre sheet of an oban triptych. The kabuki actor Segawa Kikunojo V as Princess Morokoshi (‘Morokoshi hime’), holding out a circular mirror, crouching by the edge of a pond from which jets of water are shooting up; from the play ‘Oto ni kiku icho no kusemono’ by Katsui Genpachi and others, performed at the Nakamura-za in the 8th month of 1824.
