Description:

This mitate-e (likening picture) is a travesty of an actual scene. A young lord, apparently either a hatamoto (member of the Shogun's body guard) or the sone of a daimyo, is shown returningto the family yashiki (mansion) located between the outer and the inner moats of the Shogun's castle.
