Description:

Full moon at Tamagawa illuminating dyers at work in the river from the set Musashi hyakkei no uchi, the ‘One Hundred Views of Musashi’ ( Musashi being the plain in which Tokyo lies ). The set was modelled on Hiroshige’s 100 Views of Edo but only 34 prints were ever produced by the publisher Kobayashi Tetsujiro in 1884/5. Superb impression of the first edition. Perfect colour and condition with extensive mica. Signed Shinseiro Kiyochika ga. Status: Sold
