Description:
Wednesday, 3 August 2005 A good unframed colour woodcut of mountaineers resting beneath a peak by Hiroshi Yoshida. I have played safe by dating this to post 1940, but it may in fact be earlier, judging by the condition of the backing board, to which the print is glued at the top right corner only. There is light toning to the paper and some surface dirt (mainly in the top margin). There is some foxing in the image which I have tried to show in the photos. Size: 14.5 x 9.75 inches (image); 17 x 11 (to sheet edges) Think this is print of Yarigatake 1926
