This design must have had a great impact on the Kabuki artists of the time; many made later copies of the image, copying this print almost line for line; see Keyes, The Theatrical World of Osaka Prints, page 233, #224. Publisher: Shimizuya Date: c.1808 Condition: Virtually full size. Japanese album backing. Two wormholes. Minor rubbing, soils marks and flaws. Generally good state of preservation.
