Muller Estate Artist Kokyo Taniguchi 1864-1915 Signature Kokyo Seal artist's seal (kokyo) Dated 1925 Publisher Sato Shotaro Medium/Technique Woodblock print Impression excellent - very good … (before W.W.II printing) cheese-cloth patterns embossed on the white robe Colors very good Condition good … light toning, slightly soiled and creased, the top area strongly creased, the lower margin lightly creased. Description "Sagi Musume no Sei" (Spirit of the Heron Maiden), dance performance where the spirit of a heron changing into a girl and then become a heron again. The dance intertwines the moods of Heron with many costume changes. Note "Made in Japan" stamped on the back. Provenance: Robert O.
