Japanese woodblock print by Kunisada Utagawa Kunisada, (Toyokuni III, 1786-1865) The Thirty-Six Famous Geisha: Number Thirty-Six, Agemahana (Meigi sanjurokkasen: sanjuroku, Agemahana) a parody on the thirty-six famous poets- both titles pronounced the same way; depicting bijin leaning over a veranda to watch a fox dance; signed oju (by special request) Toyokuni ga, with publisher's mark Tsutakichi han (Tsuta-ya Kichizo), censor's seal aratame, and date seal of 1861 Condition: A fair impression with very good to excellent color, slight trimming (into seals on left-hand margin), binding holes and a small wormhole on left margin, small stain at bottom center edge, ink transfer at upper left corner. Dimensions: oban tate-e 35.6 by 24.4 cm
