Thursday, 19 February 2009 KIYOCHIKA KOBAYASHI Yushima Temple -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: c. 1930s; published by the Shima Art Company with publisher's seal at the lower left corner Size: 7.5" x 10.125" Condition: VG, uncirculated print, never framed; "Made in Japan" is stamped in the bottom margin on verso, Muller's inventory number written on a small piece of tape on the verso Impression: VG, tight registration and solid keylines Color: VG, deep saturated color and bleed through to verso -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Under a full moon, silhouetted travelers are seen on the telegraph pole lined road near Yushima Temple. In the distance a rickshaw driver pulls his fare.
