Saishoin Temple in Snow, Hirosaki, 1936 Kawase Hasui (1883 ? 1957) A beautiful temple scene with the rich, deep red temple building contrasting the white snow and evergreens. The snow has been lightly inked with a glistening mica to create a shimmering effect like fresh snowflakes- wonderful effect. Signed- Kawase Hasui with red artist’s seal “sui” Sealed- Publisher Watanabe, 7mm seal, later edition original, from original blocks Image size- 9 ?” x 14 3/8” (oban tate-e) Condition- Excellent, no toning, tears, not mounted, full margins
