Description:
This is an genuine original Japanese woodblock print by great shin-hanga artist Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) titled "Mallard ducks (Magamo)". The print is dated Showa 25(1950). This print is original first edition published by Watanabe in October1950, and bears appropriate early 6mm seal on the left lower corner of the image (pay attention on closeup). One from the rarest Hasui’s prints in kacho-e (birds and flowers) style. Great impression, good color and registration. Signed by artist Hasui, has seal “Sui” in the image and titled in kanji at the left margin, has Ono Gintaro printer seal on the right margin. Oban size 15 1/4" x 10 1/2".
