Description:
Hokuei, a pupil of Shunkösai Hokushü, produced more than 250 designs during his relatively short period of activity. This print depicts a courtesan disguised as a famous shamisen player (in Kabuki plays) for the Shimanouchi parade in Osaka. (from Kamigata-e exhibition 4/1/2008-)
