Description:
Hasui's atmospheric pictures depict a quiet, snowy night. Even though this image is depictions of specific locations, they could be any small village in rural Japan. Hasui seldom included human figures in his compositions, and even when figures are present they appear almost a part of the landscape. (from Nostalgic Japan exhibition 10/14/2004-)
