Colour woodblock print. Half-length portrait of the kabuki actor Onoe Kikugoro V in the role of Mamushi no Jirokichi, in the play 'Hana ayame katami ezoshi' (花菖紀念画双紙) performed at the Morita theatre, Tokyo from the 2nd day of the 5th month, 1870 (Meiji 3). One of a group of five kabuki actor portraits in a style imitating photographs.
