Description:
Colour woodblock print, an oban triptych from an album of 117 sheets. The kabuki actors Ichikawa Danjuro VII (right sheet) as Kiyomori, Nakamura Daikichi I as Otoki (centre), and Iwai Hanshiro V as Tokiwaya nyobo Otami and Sakata Hanjuro as another female character in the play ‘Kiyomori eiga no utena’ by Tsuruya Nanboku IV performed at the Kawarasaki-za in the 11th month of 1816.
