Description:
Colour woodblock print, oban polyptych from an album of 117 sheets. The kabuki actors (from right) Nakamura Daikichi I as Hige no Ikkyu, Matsumoto Koshiro V as Agemaki no Sukeroku, Seki Sanjuro II as ‘shirozake uri Shinbei’ and Onoe Kikugoro III as Agemaki, in the play ‘Sukeroku sakura no futaeobi’ (助六桜二重帯); performed at the Kawarasaki-za in the 3rd month of 1822 (Bunsei 5).
