Description:
Woodblock diptych print, oban tate-e. Warriors: each representing a champion on the Takeda side in the Kawanakajima campaign and seated and in armour (possibly originally intended to form a triptych). (1) Yamagata Saburohei Masakage in green armour seated, facing right, holding a long black club upright'; 1/94; $630 (Kruml), and (2) Kosaka Danjo-no-jo Masanobu in blue-black armour seated, facing left, holding a black club in his lap, with an armillary sphere.(diptych?)
