Description:

Colour woodblock print from a triptych, oban tate-e. The Kabuki actor Sawamura Tossho I (Sojuro V) in the role of Jujibei from the play 'Dekiaki yawata matsuri' (当秋八幡祭), performed at the Morita theater in the seventh month of 1834 (Tenpo 5), showing a warrior subduing a foe before a statue.
