Woodblock triptych print, oban tate-e. A scene the very successful kabuki play Sakura soshi, showing the assembled peasants, many in straw coats, making their protests outside their lord’s mansiaon, with Asakura Togo (performed by Ichikawa Kodanji IV) (centre) and some officials to the right.
