Description:
Woodblock diptych print, oban tate-e. The seppuku scene from the kabuki play of 'Kanadehon Chushingura’. The kabuki actor (l-r) Shijaku as Hara Goemon, Ichimura Takenojo (Utaemon XII) as Oboshi Yuranosuke, Arashi Kichisaburo as Enya Hangan Takasada, performing seppuku, Otani Tomoemon as Ono Kudayu, Ichikawa Kuzo and Nakayama Bungoro as the two commissioners Ishido Umanojo and Yamana Jirozaemon.
