Description:

Colour woodblock print, oban. The kabuki actor Bando Mitsugoro III as Tonase, dressed for travel and holding an open umbrella; in Act VIII or Act IX of ‘Kanadehon Chushingura’ by Takeda Izumo II, Miyoshi Shoraku and Namiki Senryu, performed at the Nakamura-za in the 4th month of 1814.
