Description:
Colour woodblock print, one sheet from a polyptych. The kabuki actor Arashi Sangoro III as Tokubei, clerk of the Hiranoya oil shop ('Hiranoya tedai Tokubei'), drawing a sword. From the play 'Sono sakazuki iro no mitsukumi' by Tsuruya Nanboku IV, performed at the Ichimura-za in the 1st month of 1815. Signed. (See also 1908,0718,0.69 and 0.91)
