Description:
Colour woodblock print, right sheet of an oban diptych. The kabuki actor Iwai Hanshiro V as Yae, daughter of Shiratayu (‘Shiratayu musume Yae’), standing by a gate in the snow; in the play ‘Sekai no hana Sugawara denju’ by Tsuruya Nanboku IV, performed at the Ichimura-za in the 11th month of 1814. The left sheet of this diptych is 1908,0718,0.72.1-2.
