Description:
Colour woodblock print, oban. The second sheet from a polyptych. The kabuki actor Bando Mitsugoro III as the samurai retainer Yawata Saburo, seated with two swords; from an unstaged scene (‘mitate’) depicting the Soga brothers’ confrontation, (‘Soga no taimen’).
