From the series "Meigi Sanjurokkasen" (Famous Geisha Compared to the Thirty Six Renowned Poets). No. 33. Two assistants are dressing the high ranking courtesan in a kimono with a peacock and peonies. A girl attends to an incense burner, which was likely just used to add the fragrance to the kimono.
