Description:
From the supplement of "Dai Chikamatsu Zenshu" ("The complete Works of Chikamatsu Manzaemon"). The heroine Yujiri in the play "Yugiri Awa no Naruto". This print is also known with the title "The Departed Spirit of a Courtesan". Seien Shima was one of the very few woman artists in pre-war Japan.
