From the series, "Shin Nigao" (New Portraits). Actor Nakamura Ganjiro is in the role of 47 Ronin leader, Oboshi Yuranosuke. "Shin Nigao" was a short-lived magazine series started in 1915 for 5 issues. Several artists contributed to one or two prints for the series which showcased more individual approaches to the traditional actor's portraits.
