Description:

A wonderful triptych based on the classic Chinese tale JOURNEY TO THE WEST -- the legend of the Buddhist monk Xuanzang's pilgrimage to India during the Tang Dynasty in order to obtain the sutra religious texts. Among his three protectors was Sun Wukong, a monkey king whose powers grows to match the forces of all of the Eastern deities, and who most often rescues Xuanzang before he is harmed in the eight-one disasters he needs to face in order to attain Buddhahood (which,in the end, both achieve).
