Description:
This is the image of Ichikawa Danjuro V as Akagaki Genzo, one of the 47 Ronin, standing in front of a brushwood fence in the snow, wearing a brick red outer coat and an enormous snow capped straw hat. He holds 2 fish by a cord in his right hand. This impression is illustrated in Lemoisne L'Estampe Japonaise, pl 13. Another is illustrated in the McFetridge sale catalog 1969, no. 67.SC I/119.
