Description:
This is an extremely rare woodblock printed magazine cover, printed by Watanabe Shozaburo in 1955. Koitsu Raisonne code TK-WN-4-V1. Also known as "Fishing Boat Returning at Sunset, Yabase". Listed in Watanabe's 1935 catalogue, so being an autumn scene we date the original oban-sized version of this print to circa November 1933 or (less likely) November 1934. "Yabase" is sometimes incorrectly pronounced "Yabashi". This item is from my personal collection and is not for sale.
