Description:
Rare scroll by Gakusui (well-known as a woodblock print artist), hand-painted on cream silk with gorgeous gold silk surround. Deluxe glazed pottery end roller. Artist signature and seal at lower right of image area. Includes original artist-signed and sealed scroll box. Each flower/plant symbolises spring, summer, fall and winter. Painted area is 41.7 x 109cm. The last image compares two Ide Gakusui signatures from woodblock prints (left and centre) with this scroll's signature (right). This item is from my personal collection and is not for sale.
