Description:
THIS IS A VINTAGE SMALL JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINT OF TWO CHILDREN, A GIRL AND A BOY, CATCHING FIREFLIES WITH A FAN AND CAGE. The background is dark gray, and the boy is dressed in green, blue, black and white with brown shoes, while the girl is dressed in a red and white kimono with yellow obi and red sandals. The fireflies are yellow. The colors in the woodblock print are much more vivid than in my photos. There is a two character signature and a seal, but I don't know the artist. The measurement is 3 1/2" X 5 1/2". The woodblock print is affixed to the card by a very thin area at the top of the print. There is no message in the card--rather a paper to write a note on. This card was brought back from Japan about 1950, following the occupation after World War II.
