Description:
This is a a gorgeous Japanese woodblock print by sosaku hanga printmaker Tomikichiro Tokuriki, one of the best known of 20th century Japanese printmakers. For many years Tokuriki made shin hanga prints for Uchida of Kyoto, images for tourist consumption. Less well known is that he created some superb sosaku hanga prints which he sold privately; this is one of those. It depicts a traditional Japanese bridge, with a silhouetted car going across it. The color and impression are superb; condition is mint. The print is brush signed in the image lower right. It measures about 11 x 9 3/4 plus full margins.
