Monday, 9 January 2006 Antique Original Old Watercolor Painting -Signed TAKATA This is an original watercolor, definitely old, probably antique. It is signed "Takata" as shown, however I am not sure what the first initial is so you should do some homework on this one… it could be a very fine piece. The painting is done on heavy weight paper measuring 12 7/8 inches tall by 19 1/4 inches wide. It has a large stain in the upper left corner and also a little minor staining along the top edge, otherwise it is in very good condition. There are no tears or repairs. The frame is included… it appears to be original (or at least has been with the watercolor for a very long time). The frame is solid, but there is a small area where the finish is rubbed off on the lower left. The backing board is a light weight press board (almost a cardboard. The frame measure 22 1/8 inches long and 15 5/8 inches tall. The glass is in good shape and seems to be old… it is a little wavy and has some tiny bubbles and small manufacturing imperfections.
