Friday, 7 March 2008 Fine guaranteed original Japanese woodblock print by the shin hanga school artist Yamakawa Shuho. Subject: Nunozarashi (dance). Date: 1936. Fine impression. Good color (shows slight fading). Even toning to design. Not terribly obtrusive but certainly noteworthy. Margins are lighter in tone (see images). Large oban design measures 11.25" x 16.5". Illustrated in "The Female Image" (see images). A great design of a modern beauty. NOTE: Finely printed with mica-like details to the textiles.
