Friday, 4 January 2008 This is a beautiful original woodblock print, by noted shin hanga printmaker Ito Shinsui. It is titled "Spring Evening in Komoro", from the series "10 Scenes of Shinano". Signed lower right and sealed with the artist's red seal. Lovely color and crisp impression; the blues and purples are really breathtaking. Condition is quite good; it is still in its original presentation folder from the publisher, Watanabe, and never framed. The print bears a Watanabe 6mm seal, indicating that it is a true first edition. The print measures about 10 x 14.5" or so plus margins.
