Saturday, 28 May 2005 This original, early to mid-20th century, watercolor painting on paper depicting a landscape, possibly Mt. Fuji, was done by the listed Japanese artist known for his watercolors of Japanese scenes, Y. Matsumoto. The painting is signed by the artist in the lower left. The watercolor, with fresh colors, appears to be in excellent condition, but it has not been examined out of the frame. The watercolor is 9 1/2" x 13" and the frame is 10 1/4" x 13 3/4". It is housed in a custom, period, wood frame, which is in very good condition, with tight corners.
