Description:

Title Harvest Warm Wind Artist Lu Min born 1962 Biography Resume Signature Signed and numbered by artist in pencil Dated 1999 Technique/Medium Reduction woodblock print Impression Printed on a pliable Chinese paper of middle thickness Colors Printed with thick oil-based ink, which gives the print the impression of an oil-painting. Condition Margins sligthly wrinkled Edition Size 50 Numbered 26/50 Description "Harvest Warm Wind". Lu Min transforms compositions and colors into language to express something. Here the message is "harvest" and "warm wind". The harvest is expressed with ripe sunflowers and the typical yellow-brownish colors of a field ripe for harvest. The "warm wind" is expressed with light colors and with the slightly bent plants - with the wind coming in like a spotlight beam. The colors of this print are less vibrant, more refined and they form a nice counterpoint towards the dark, black and dark-violett colors which frame the composition from left, right and top. Note Lu Min was selected by the Muban Foundation in London for the collection of 60 representative woodblock prints by leading contemporary Chinese printmakers as the number 29 in the portfolio.
