The music composers of the 19th century had the ambition to express the characteristics of things or notions with music like Smetana who masterly transformed the characteristics of a river, the Moldau flowing through Prague, into musical notes. Lu Min does the same with the art of printmaking. One could hardly transform the perception of flying much better into colors and a drawing composition than she does - and hardly more beautiful. Note Lu Min was selected by the Muban Foundation in London for the collection of 60 representative woodblock prints by leading contemporary Chinese printmakers as the number 29 in the portfolio.
