Description:

Title Dusk (2) Artist Lu Min born 1962 Biography Resume Signature Signed and numbered by artist in pencil Dated 2002 Technique/Medium Reduction woodblock print Impression Printed on a pliable Chinese paper Colors Printed with thick oil-based ink, which gives the print the impression of an oil-painting. Condition Upper margin slightly creased Edition Size 10 Numbered 5/10 Description "Dusk (2)". A wonderful design, full of mistery, fantasy and imagination. We are reminded of Sainte-Exupery's short novel of "The Little Prince", who travels from one planet to another. The curved horizon is a design "trick" used in several compositions by Lu Min to create the feeling of a "Shangri-la" land on a planet different from earth. The fine color gradations and color shades enforce the magic of this design. Note Lu Min was selected by the Muban Foundation in London for the collection of 60 representative woodblock prints by leading contemporary Chinese printmakers as the number 29 in the portfolio.
