Triptych: Naval Battle of Sino-Japanese War Artist: Kiyochika Format: Oban triptych: each sheet: 14" x 9.75" Subject: The battle for control of the Yellow Sea on 17th September 1894 off Haiyang Island. Failing light and mutual exhaustion put an end to the fight which gave the Japanese control of the Yellow Sea. Date: 1894 Condition: Fine colors. Slightly trimmed at top and base, but generally fine state of preservation. Impression: Fine impressions with gauffrage.
